We decided to stay in China during Christmas 2017 and the New Year 2018. During this time we had the pleasure of hosting my brother-in-law Steven.
The next day we were off to walking around just checking things out and in the evening we went on the Hong Kong Light Cruise to watch the Symphony of Lights on Victoria Harbour. We also watch a 3D light show afterwards that was being shown at the harbour front.
He was meant to arrive earlier than the 21st December, however, there were delays in his flight because of too much fog in Europe.
Paul went to fetch Steven from the airport and he managed to get a VOA, for 5 days, but only in Shenzhen. When he arrived we sat around and chatted. Later that evening we took him to our favourite Chinese restaurant downstairs where we live.
On Friday we went to the Electronic market. We walked in when it was daylight and out when it was getting dark. We then went for a walk through Dongmen Pedestrian Street and nibbled on some shwarma and meat on a stick street food. We then went through to OCT and had dinner at our favourite Italian Restaurant.
This is the oldest Mc Donalds in Shenzhen.

The next day we went through OCT Art World. Very interesting I must say. After spending some time there we went through to Seaworld (it is an area, not an aquarium) to watch the fountain show. There were so many people there and all the restaurants that border the fountain show were all full. So we stood and watched the show and then went through to a Mexican restaurant, Coyote Ugly, to eat dinner.

The following day was a lazy day and we stayed indoors and relaxed.
On Christmas day we were up bright and early and took the ferry to Hong Kong Central. I really enjoy using the ferry as a way to Hong Kong Airport or central as the border control is not as busy as the ones that take you to the metro. And it is so much more comfortable.
We checked into our hotel, iClub hotel, and it was very nice. We went out to explore and ended up at a Woolooo Mooloo Sky Bar to watch the sunset and toast Christmas. Later on, we went for dinner at an Italian Restaurant. This restaurant was so rustic and relaxed.
Merry Christmas
What a view !!
This was such an awesome dinner.

Then the 27th we said our goodbyes to Steven and checked out early to catch our flight to Beijing to meet my Mum and Sister. (That's another blog post).
It is always great having Steven visit.
Keep reading and I'll keep posting.
