It was hard getting out of bed this morning. It was freezing. Walking to work was 3 degrees, but with the wind factor it landed up being -1 degrees. Well thank goodness we bought our jackets just in time.
Well I ended off on Saturday. So we were invited to attend a local market with Chloe and her husband Jon. He picked us up at 1pm and we headed off to meet Chloe at the market. It was huge. We first walked through the clothing section. And Chloe is an aggressive bargainer. We managed to buy quite a lot of things without spending too much money.

Tates like compressed matabella with nuts.

Then the wet market was next. The one section sold fresh vegetables and fruits. The other section sold fresh fish, of all kinds, crabs, squid, turtles, snails, oysters, and even rabbits. Then the next section was live animals such as doves, chickens, roosters, geese etc.

It was really an eye opener.
From the market we went back to Chloe and Jon's apartment where he cooked the crabs and oysters that he had bought from the wet market. It was delicious. But I was told by Chloe to eat a section of the crab I was going to leave. She told me it was the best part. So I ate it. It wasn't great but it wasn't bad either. When I was finished, she told me that I had just eaten the crabs uterus and eggs. (Do you think it tasted good in my tummy now???)

The chinese wedding dress Chloe gave Kerry.
At 5pm we headed off to dinner at a local restaurant. And local it was. There was a large table, where you make a wood fire in and it heats two cast iron woks that are embedded the table. Then they bring in the broth (we had fish broth in the one wok and chicken broth in the other) and pour it into these cast iron woks and let it come to the boil. While they wait for it to boil a old lady stick dough to the side of the wok and this cooks as the broth boils. Vegetables are added and then it is served in little bowls. It was delicious.

Chloe, John and us. The manager and us.

The manager also wanted photos taken with us and yes we have to email to him.
Thanks Chloe and Jon for a fantastic day.
Now I am looking forward to the parcel that was sent from South Africa. It is arriving tomorrow. Yay, nick nacks.
