CHINESE NEW YEAR 2016

As per every year we celebrate Chinese New Year.  The dates are always different as they are calculated using the moon calendar.

This year we celebrate the year of the Monkey.  And now the government has allowed families to have two children so there are many, many women who are expecting now and will be having 'Monkey Babies'.

The school organized a Chinese New Year Dinner for all the staff and the Chinese teachers organized a Chinese New Year performance for the parents.

However it is great to have a holiday as school has been quite stressful as we have a new principal, as I mentioned before, and with new principals comes new ways of doing things again.

STEPHEN'S VISIT OVER NEW YEARS

After Christmas was over we were excited that Paul's brother, Stephen, was coming through for a visit.  Yes to our city of Rizhao.  It was exciting that family was visiting us in our home.  We had organised a  vehicle to pick him up from the airport.

We went out to 1996 to celebrate the coming in of the New Year.  Had a delicious meal.

Then  the next day we went through to the Won Ping Ko beach and had a walk around.  It was still pretty cold and was very windy.  Afterwards we went to a restaurant for lunch.

We also treated Stephen to the famous Hot Pot.  I had already gotten hold of Vivian and pre-checked the menu before going there so it was easier for us to order our food.

Afterwards we went to play archery.  It was a lot of fun.

On the last day, Stephen took the girls out with him to the beach and then back to the restaurant for lunch.

Stephen left on the Monday, so I had to say good bye before heading off to work.  The vehicle took him back to the airport.

It was really nice having him over the festive period.
