Shanghai New Years Day 2014

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE.

What better to do in the start of the new year than to go and shop.  And that just what we did.  Off we went to the 'Taobao' market.  Yes again.  Sanchia wanted to go and finish all her gift shopping and look for some specials.

What we did not know was that it was a public holiday here in China and every person that lives in Shanghai decided it was a day to go out and shop as well.  We took the subway and it was so hectic being pushed and bumped along.  The only relief during the subway saga was the escalators.

Later that evening, Kerry and Sarah babysat Erin and Stephen took us out to the Meridian Hotel for drinks.  The 789 Bar is located on the  65th floor.  So there were amazing views of Shanghai.

When we returned we started with all our packing as the next day we were going to be out all day.  So as you travellers know, it was packing, then re-packing to try and get everything you brought along with all the goodies you bought to fit in.

And so another day ended.
