Our Trip to Beijing to meet Nikki

Well it has come to that time of the year again when we go on holiday.  And it is very exciting as our second trip to Beijing we will be sharing it with Nikki, Marco, Tamika and Liam.

Tickets booked, hotel booked and bags packed and we left on Friday the 28th on the overnight train to Beijing.  We were in the exactly the same birth as we were the last time. Right next to the local toilet and it was very noisy.

But we managed to sleep between the stops and arrive in Beijing safely the next day.

Thank you Sanchia and Kerry for your parcel.  It got to us just in time to use some of the goodies for our trip on the train. (Thank you for all the birthday presents as well.)

On our arrival, 5:25am, we got a taxi through to our hotel.  Because there were people still in the room and only checked out at 12 lunchtime, we had some time to waste.  So we booked our bags in and went for a walk down Wangfujing Street.

Everything was still closed but there were quite a few people walking to work.  So we did a few photos and enjoyed the scenery.

We went through to Mac Donald's to have some breakfast.

We then got back to our hotel and had to sit and wait another hour before we could retire to our room.

We rested for an hour before venturing out to the Marriott Executive Apartments to meet Nikki and Marco and family.  It was so good to see them.  And boy has Tamika and Liam grown.

We then set out straight away to do some sightseeing.  We took Nikki, Marco and children down Wangfujing and of course through the famous Wangfujing food market.

Then just around the corner from their hotel is "Da Dong" the famous Peking Duck Restaurant and as soon as Nikki saw it we had to go in and have a meal. Well it was absolutely delicious.

It feels so good to be travelling.
