Silk Market - 30 March 2014

We were up nice and early to go and meet Nikki, Marco, Tamika and Liam.  Today was the day we went to the Silk Market.  Also a famous tourist attraction.  I was excited as I had not been there before.  And this was a place to bargain.

Marco hired a private car to take us to the market.  We decided that the best time to go was early so as to beat all the crowds.

When we got there it looked like a shoppers paradise.  All 5 floors of it.  But if you are not in a bargaining mood then this is definitely not the place to be.

The prices of all the good are extremely high.  And if you can't bargain then you are paying too much.  Some of the shop owners wouldn't lower their prices to where I knew we could get it cheaper.  So they lost out on a sale.  I would definitely recommend it to tourists to go and see and experience.  But I would not buy goods there as they are too expensive.  Definitely a tourist trap.

By 11am the Silk Market was choc a block.  I never saw so many tourist buses before at a market.

Then when we got back to the Hotel we decided to walk and walk and walk to do some sightseeing and some photo shoots.

For Lunch we found a Burger King at the Oriental Plaza.  (What a treat for Paul, Sarah and myself as we don't get this or any burger in Rizhao.)  And when day turned to night during our walk we had supper at a local restaurant.
