My birthday cake the school bought for me.
It has been really cold so we have not really ventured out. Staying cozy and warm was our priority. Thank goodness for central heating.
Last week I celebrated my first birthday here in China. Paul cooked me a wonderful dinner and Vivian came and had supper with us.
Then Kathy took us out to dinner at Yummy's for pizza to celebrate and the next day Kathy came over for a home cooked western lunch.
School has been very busy and I am really hoping that things will be a little bit more relaxing next academic year. And I can't believe that the academic year will have finished in 12 weeks time. Which means that we will have been here for a year then. Time really does fly.
And as for the weather. China really does have 4 distinct seasons. When it was the last day of winter, it was as if spring just kicked it out. We did not have any minus temps and the highs have gone to double figure. It really refreshing when you can now sit with your windows open, wont say for fresh air, but because it is getting too hot inside the apartment.
In 12 days time we are off to Beijing again to visit my sister Nikki and her family. We are very excited. It will only be for one week, but they say a change is as good as a holiday.
I will keep you updated.
